The edging of my Olé Olé blanket

Good evening ladies,
Hope everything is fine !

Let me begin this post by thanking each and every one of you… one by one… every single one… for every sweet comment you left on my Olé Olé blanket post…Your words filled my heart with a big joy and I felt sooo happy reading them 🙂

This is, as promised, the graphic pattern of the border of Olé Olé blanket:

You have to make two rows of dc first and for the third row (in red) all you have to do is to crochet by following the steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 (in light blue)

It is very easy, you’ll see as soon as you’ll try 😉

And for you who asked for the pattern of the blanket, I am so sorry…I took it from this french book , but you can find something quite similar in the blog of the wonderful Lucy here. 😉

That’s all my friend!

Hope I made it clear…

Do not hesitate to ask any question, I’ll be more than happy to answer 🙂

Have a great and warm evening!

The crochet mood blanket 2014

Yes it is finally done 🙂 in February 2015 🙂

I started this blanket in January 2014 making one square a day and choosing the color of this square depending on my mood … the good and happy days were bright and happy colors… the bad days: greys and dark colors… the “in love” days : reds and purples… the calm, relaxed and peaceful days: cremes, whites and pastel colors 🙂

Back in early september I stopped it … completely… I was not “in the mood” anymore… and I decided to finally finish it in January 2015… so the last squares were not done  depending on my mood… but I really really love the result… It is amazing to see a whole (not so whole) year in a blanket 🙂

This blanket is made of squares… each one is made of 5 rows of 12 dc… joined as I go with a last round around the square of 1sc 3ch 1sc… and I rotated each square before joining it to the others to have this patchwork effect 🙂 You can find the pattern of this blanket HERE.

I used leftovers of my trusted Nako Vizon aran acrylic yarn and a 4.5mm hook…

The final blanket is 270 squares (18 x 15)

For the edging I chose to make a very very simple one: 1sc 3ch 1sc all around the blanket like the last joining round of each square. I think that a very simple design blanket like this one must have a very simple edging …

And I am really pleased with the edging 🙂

The blanket looks lovely in the sitting room and I think that it will stay forever there keeping us snuggly and cosy during the cold days 🙂

Have to leave you now… the weather is very very bad here today and there is a storm coming our way …

Wishing you a warm and happy week!

Granny squares love

There is something about granny squares I can not resist… when I see a pic on the net or on the TV of a granny squares blanket I feel like my heart is beating furiously and I feel the urge to crochet one myself… It is like a kind of drug or something … the granny squares love… it hits you and you can not resist the temptation of starting something similar….

That’s what happened to me the day I started this granny squares blanket… It was the urge to crochet … just crochet grannies without something particular in mind… just a blanket of grannies surrounded with white… for whom? for which room? No idea… just a granny squares blanket and nothing else…

And then I began slowly but surely crocheting these squares…

One by one… with no previous idea of how big will it become…

And it became day after day bigger and bigger…

And I was soooo enjoying the hole process that I did not felt bored at all…

And I was happy watching the colors melting together in each little square …

Each little 5 rounds square was making me happy and in love …

And I started to join them as I go using Lucy’s super method (here) … and decided to make them become a summer runner for our bed 🙂

And then I made some math counting and decided that I needed 58 more to add….

So I crocheted the 58 😉 (the above pic is without them)

Now I need to join these 58 and make a good picots edging and I will have the most beautiful granny squares blanket on my bed and I will be the most happy woman on earth 😀 hahahaha

Can’t wait to show you my finished granny squares piece of love 🙂

Have a wonderful week!

Bye bye January

Hello there!

January is gone … Here is a quick update to share with you…

My crochet mood blanket 2014 – January

It’s been a good month. Some dark squares here and there mostly caused by the ugly situation in my country. But it was a not-so-bad month for me .

I love how this blanket is turning… I love how I can see clearly the whole month in a rectangle of crocheted small squares 🙂

I love my moody project 🙂

Home wise, a new couch has been bought for the sitting room. Our sitting room is a big one. Now we can lay down all of us five, feets up and curly under warm crocheted blankets 🙂

Yes, this couch is huge… really HUGE… It is a BIG Ushaped couch …

No, you can not see how huge it is… On the next pic you’ll see it clearly 😉

But believe me my house is not always as tidy as on this pic… This is a very rare pic  I’ll have to look at from time to time 😉

And finally this is my poncho coming to an end 🙂 It is 99% done and I am now crocheting the last row of its edging .  A tadaaa post is coming very soon 🙂

I love my poncho and I keep trying it on and dansing in front of the mirror like a stupid teenager 🙂 Love can make you stupid I know 🙂

That’s all for now 🙂 Thank you so much for visiting!

See you very soon my friend!

Take care

P.S: Thank you so much for your support concerning my heart cushion pattern. It really means to me a lot  🙂

You can find it from now on with the other patterns on the right sidebar of the blog!

An update ;-)

Good morning!

Yes, I’m still alive… I think that’s how I should start each post from now on …

No…This is such a stupid joke …eh?

We have to laugh about it so we will not cry…That’s how the situation is in my little country Lebanon these days…

You can not imagine how much each and every comment you wrote on my last post touched me deaply… Some of your words made me cry… And they all made me realize how much this whole blog-friendship is important to me and to my mental health… I am really THANKFUL for your words, your kindness, your prayers and your love… I wish I could hug you all 🙂

Today, I am showing you little bits of my creative life…These little wips that are allowing me to remain “normal” and to not become insane every time one of my family member leave home…

So, my lovelies, this is the latest acrylic painting I am working on right now…

This is my village 🙂 It is called: Beit Chabeb

The painting is not over yet…I still have to add small details (I just love this last “stage” of a painting… just like edging a crocheted blanket 😉 ) but I thought about showing it to you like a wip…

And …

This is the crazy ripple so far….

32 rows …that means 16 hours of crochet…wowwww 🙂

Do you love the colors?

I adore them 🙂 I love how they melt together…

That’s all I have for today my friends!

Have to leave you now…and I hope to be back to you very very soon…

Until then take good care of yourself…

and THANK YOU once again for just being here… Your presence is all that matters 🙂

Hug and love

Wips and a tadaaa

Hello lovelies,

How are you?

It’s been like ages since I last posted… life has been chaotic in my part of the world… Too much family and children time…so much to do…so little time … children at home…no time for myself…just time for crochet in the evenings …I am sure you understand…

I’ve managed to finish the baby boy’s ripple…Here it is….

Not my-kind-of-colors but I like the softness of the whole blanket and I am sure the future-mother-to-be will love it 🙂

And I’ve been crocheting like mad the tiny-squares-letter-cushion…

Wanna see the progress I’ve made?

I finished the C and on the way to finish the S too 😀

Even though they are making me crazy and bored and and and…. I must make them…

Maybe three of them for the children…

I will start the J for Joseph as soon as I finish the S of Sarah…

Today, I’ll be in my craft room making the fabric cushions for these 2…

And you? What are you making today?

I wish you a wonderful day and hope to get back to you soon 😉

Kisses and hugs

The graphic square

Oh hello lovelies!

It is such a beautiful day today and I’m in love… deeply madly crazy in love with my latest finished project… Are you ready to fall too? I’m sure you are 😉

Let’s have some close up pics …

I love love love this simple graphic square…I think it is simple but beautiful… and I love it even more because it is the fruit of my imagination… my own drawing… 🙂

and I love the whole result…the table runner in all its glory…all these bright and beautiful colors mixed together in a lovely patchwork…

I feel happy whenever I enter the sitting room 🙂

Now for the part you are all waiting for: The how to…

I crocheted this table runner with a thin cotton yarn called “Camilla 6/4” and a 2mm crochet hook. I made it by joining as I go the squares together in a randomly use of colors…

I drew for you my friend the graphic chart of this square… It is right here:

graphic square

As you noticed, the joining part was made as-I-go with round 5 (in black in the chart) and it is done where I put the arrows…(Instead of the middle chain a slip joining stitch)

Each square was done in a different color and I made a very simple edging (1sc, 4ch, 1sc) all around the whole table runner…

I am in love with it (did I already told you that?? I don’t think so :D) and I think that this graphic square will be beautiful if used to make coasters, cushions or a summer blanket why not?

So, my lovely friend, I’ll have to leave you now with a last pic…

and wish you a wonderful day!

P.S: I draw all my graphic charts including this one using Corel Draw (a graphic design software) as many of you keep asking me 🙂

and one last thing: Some of you asks me if I can explain some of the charts with written words and I am so sorry about that but I just can’t do it sometimes… I am unable to do it 🙁 It is too difficult for me as I myself cannot follow an english written pattern 🙁 not yet! but one day… 😉

Kisses to all!

Love birds :)

Goooooood morniiiiing  🙂

A beautiful day today !

Hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas time surrounded by your loved ones 🙂

Baby’s patchwork bedspread

How are you today? Must show you the patchwork bedspread which I finished on September15 before little Joseph was born! Must must show you 😉 Tadaaaaaaaaaaaa

This bedspread is crocheted with a 100% acrylic yarn called Mirage and a 3.5mm crochet hook.

It is made with traditional 6 rounds granny squares joined together as-I-go with Lucy’s wonderful method 🙂

and for the edging I made 1 round of granny’s and my ole-ole border that I love so much 🙂

The bedspread is made with 154 squares (14×11) with a variety of colors (all leftovers from my stash) 🙂

and I’m in love with it 🙂

Today the girls are back to school …

Not so happy to leave their little bro at home with me 🙂 hehehe

Wishing you a wonderful day!

I hope you liked the patchwork bedspread 🙂

Thank you sooooomuch for visiting!

Big big kisses from Christina, Sarah, Baby Joe and me!

Baby granny blanket!

I’m very proud to show you today my baby granny blanket in all its glory 🙂 Tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

This blanket was crocheted with the Nako Vizon …a 100% acrylic yarn with a 4mm crochet hook.

It is made with 48 traditional 4 rounds granny squares joined together as-I-go…

You can find the graphic pattern for the traditional granny square HERE!

And for the joining-as-you-go method, I use Lucy’s wonderful tuto that you can find HERE 🙂

The edging is crocheted with two granny rounds (1 in brown followed by 1 in blue) then a round of my favorite ole-ole border that you can find HERE 🙂 I just love this border and I can’t help my-self using it everytime 🙂

Now I’m taking extreme pleasure in buying boys’s toys 🙂 after many years of princesses and pink stuff 🙂

Like this cute little bear… Isn’t it adorable?

Or these little colorful wood cars …

Before I go today, I want to thank you all for the wonderful comments you leave here. I’m trying my best to write a small thank you to each one of you but sometimes I just can’t… so if I’m not answering you back, do excuse me…I always visit your blog and follow it with my reader but I don’t often have enough time to leave comments 🙁

I wish you a wonderful and colorful day…

Here the weather is soooo hot and sunny I can barely move 🙂

BIG BIG kisses!
