The crochet mood blanket 2014

By | February 9th, 2015|"done", Crochet mood blanket 2014, Crocheted blankets, patchwork, Patchwork crocheted squares, Uncategorized|18 Comments

Yes it is finally done 🙂 in February 2015 🙂

1

I started this blanket in January 2014 making one square a day and choosing the color of this square depending on my mood … the good and happy days were bright and happy colors… the bad days: greys and dark colors… the “in love” days : reds and purples… the calm, relaxed and peaceful days: cremes, whites and pastel colors 🙂

2

Back in early september I stopped it … completely… I was not “in the mood” anymore… and I decided to finally finish it in January 2015… so the last squares were not done  depending on my mood… but I really really love the result… It is amazing to see a whole (not so whole) year in a blanket 🙂

3

This blanket is made of squares… each one is made of 5 rows of 12 dc… joined as I go with a last round around the square of 1sc 3ch 1sc… and I rotated each square before joining it to the others to have this patchwork effect 🙂 You can find the pattern of this blanket HERE.

4

I used leftovers of my trusted Nako Vizon aran acrylic yarn and a 4.5mm hook…

The final blanket is 270 squares (18 x 15)

5

For the edging I chose to make a very very simple one: 1sc 3ch 1sc all around the blanket like the last joining round of each square. I think that a very simple design blanket like this one must have a very simple edging …

6

And I am really pleased with the edging 🙂

7

The blanket looks lovely in the sitting room and I think that it will stay forever there keeping us snuggly and cosy during the cold days 🙂

8

Have to leave you now… the weather is very very bad here today and there is a storm coming our way …

10

Wishing you a warm and happy week!

Crochet is my therapy

By | August 6th, 2014|Crochet mood blanket 2014, Crocheted blankets, granny squares, Patchwork crocheted squares, Uncategorized, V stitch, Vintage V blanket, wips|42 Comments

Good morning beautiful people!

I hope that you are ok, happy and healthy wherever you are.

Today’s post is an update of my current crochet wips. What else to share with you my likeminded friends? 😉

1

Most of the time, specially in the evenings, I crochet so I don’t think much, I crochet so I don’t look at the news, I crochet so I don’t become crazy… That’s why every week I have a lot of crochet to share… It is my medicine, my anti stress, my kind of escape for a better world where everyone live in PEACE with everyone. The world has become an horrible place so much violence, blood and injustice that you have to find your way to not become insane 🙂

So, my dear friend, here is what I am up to these days… Working on 3 different wips

2

3

* A granny squares bedspread for our bed…just grannies surrounded with black… I am making now the squares will join them later… I am not even half way done but I love doing grannies, they are my favorite that’s why no hurry …I am taking my time enjoying every stitch 🙂

4

5

6

* My Crochet Mood Blanket 2014. Up to date 🙂 Proud of it 🙂 I love it soooo much 🙂 I am crocheting one square a day and above in the close up pic you can see the hole month of July 🙂

7

8

9

*And finally my latest addiction: The Vstitch blanket 🙂 if you’re following me on Instagram or Facebook you already know about how much I am addicted to this project  😀 You have to try it! It is … well… ADDICTIVE 😉

Well… my sweeties… These were the 3 wips I am working on at the moment. Crochet is my therapy to face this cruel world and the war that is threatening my beautiful country… I need your prayers my friends… I don’t know if I’ll have internet or no in the coming days due to the situation here 🙁 It is really awful 🙁 Please pray for my country and for its army… Pray for the innocent people… Pray for a better tomorrow…

Thank you so much dear readers… It really means a lot having you here 🙂

Peace and Love

V stitch stripes

Hello lovelies,

How are you? Woooow we are July1 already…time flies… 2014 is half gone and I am half done with my Crochet Mood Blanket 2014.

1

Here it is from January1 (up-left light purple) till June30 (down-right blue turquoise) 😀 Wooow! I am really happy to be up to date with it 🙂 It makes me proud, happy and makes my heart sing with joy.

2

See? Not so many dark and grey days! Hope that the second half will be as happy as this first 🙂

2'

I am pleased with it even though it will be BIG very BIG . The first half is 120 x 145 cm. So the final blanket will be 145 x 240 cm 😀

And I started also something new…

3

Well, I am unravelling an wip and crocheting a new one… Remember my Vintage Stripy Blanket? Well, I decided to unravel it because I was not pleased with its sides …they were not straight and it was bothering me … A LOT… So, I decided to unravel it and with every row unravelled crochet a row in a new Vintage-V-blanket 🙂

4

I love the colors. That’s why I am keeping them as they are…unravelling from here…crocheting there 🙂

6

And I am falling madly deeply in love with this V-stitch blanket 🙂 It is addictive…and once you start you can not leave your hook anymore 😉

5

I drew a small chart to show you how I am working on it. You can find online if you google: Crochet V stitch many patterns, charts and videos too…but here is my own “version” with less “holes” 🙂 and I am really pleased with it.

7

I am working this blanket with a 4.5mm hook and a yarn similar to the Stylecraft special DK but a little thicker. It is called Nako Vizon. A 100% acrylic yarn 🙂

If you have time and are wondering what to crochet, I really advise you to try the V-stitch. It is totally addictive easy and fast to crochet 🙂 You’ll be totally hooked 🙂

Have a super day!

Last week…

By | June 23rd, 2014|Crochet mood blanket 2014, filofax, granny squares, My family, Stripes, Uncategorized, vintage stripes, wips|18 Comments

I feel like I’m neglecting a little bit this blog of mine and I apologize for that….

I feel like I’m running out of time and with the children at home for their summer holidays it is quite impossible to concentrate on something for more than 5 minutes 🙂 I think you understand what I’m talking about 😉

And there is INSTAGRAM. It is so easy and so quick to post a picture with a few words and share it that …well… you end up neglecting your blog and your posts… and it is annoying me I must confess… I love this little blog of mine…I feel like it is my own home, my secret place where I can hide from all the daily “routine” stuff… A kind of escape 🙂

Well… I know I talk too much 😀 I want to show you today some pics of my past week and my actual wips … Most of these pics I’ve posted them already on Instagram (Sorry my IG friends 😉 )

1

* My Vintage stripy blanket: This blanket is my stress-away wip. It is very soothing to work on and I am in love with how the colors melt together…

2

* That’s why I’m sharing here its chart. Many of you asked me about this pattern. It is a little bit tricky to begin and end each row…so before beginning your blanket try the pattern on a small scale to make sure it works with you 😉 Very easy once you’ve made your first rows…

3

I started it with 150ch. Working it with a 4.5mm hook. I think the more chunky the yarn is the more beautiful is the effect 😉 That’s my opinion 😉

4

* This is the second wip I’m working on. A winter bedspread for our room. I’ve already made some squares and I love how they’re looking 🙂

5

Traditional granny squares are my favorite. You know that eh? and the more I crochet them the more I have projects in my head with them… I think that my brain is full of granny squares ideas… they are everywhere in my home and I just can’t have enough of them…

6

They are beautiful…don’t you think? Little sweets for the soul 🙂

7

8

*Some pics of my planner. I am in love with this little filofax of mine. Its color, its shape, everything inside it makes my heart sing with joy… And I feel that I am more organised now that I am using it. Everythink is planned, my week is decorated and I feel calm just looking at it 🙂 Nurdy lady 😉

9

10

*and this last wip of mine. My crochet mood blanket 2014. I am up to date with it and find again a lot of joy crocheting each morning a square depending on my mood of the moment 🙂 There is not a lot of grey and dark colors… don’t you think? 😉

11

* My new comfy birkenstock. I love their color and painted my nails to match them 🙂

* And finally: My reason to live…My love… My life… My time consumers… My sun… My rainbow… My everything… My children…

12

I’ll leave you today with their picture. I just LOVE them so much and I am thankful every day and blessed for having them in my life…

Have a wonderful day my friends!

Kisses!
