Here are some technical infos for you between the pics:

* Yarn: Mirage (a 100% acrylic yarn). I don’t know exactly how much yarn I used because I used mostly scraps and 3 balls of 100g of white. I think it is a total of 10 balls of 100g each or maybe a little bit less…

* Hook: 3.5mm

* Square: AΒ 6 rounds (the last one in white) traditional granny square. You can find its graphic HERE!

* Joining: I joined my squares with the last white round as-I-go. You can find more about this joining method in Lucy’s wonderful blog HERE!

* Dimensions: Appr. 240×100 cm with a total of 128 squares

* Edging: Clusters ofΒ 3dc (as for the square) but with a picot between the clusters instead of 1 chain. (To make the picots, I crochet 3chain and then 1 sc in the first chain). I love this simple edging and keep using it πŸ™‚

yaaaayyy for ponchos :)))

Today is a double tadaaa post dedicated for ponchos πŸ™‚

The girls ponchos are done and they are looking gorgeous wearing them today πŸ™‚

001

I enjoyed every single stitch crocheted… They are very very easy to make…

Using a soft acrylic yarn called baby nako and a 3.5mm hook …

01

I made a super simple edging with picots as a last round: Β 3dc…3chain+1sc in the first chain …3dc etc etc

I love picots… and I think that they are very cute as edgings πŸ˜‰

2

Here are the ponchos done and already in good use πŸ˜‰

My poncho

It is done! YAAAAAAAAAAAAY! It was done last week but could’t share it because the children ( all 3 ) were sick at home. Today the girls feel better and are back to school. Baby Joe is still at home but he is feeling muchΒ better too πŸ™‚ So, today, life is good again and I thought about sharing with you my poncho πŸ™‚

You know that I don’t like to see myself in pics so this is me without the head πŸ™‚

my-poncho-1

I think I will not wear it outside the house… It will be a kind of “wearable blanket” that keeps me warm while I moveΒ around πŸ™‚

Hubby is jealous πŸ˜‰

my-poncho2

It was crocheted with a 100% acrylic yarn called Nako Vizon. It is very similar to the Stylecraft DK but a little little bit thicker. The hook used is a 4.5 mm one.

my-poncho3

A white background would be better for this pic I know…

The squares of this poncho were joined as-I-g0. I did the front and the back separately and sew them together at the end. You can find the chart of the squares on the right sidebar of my blog under the name : circle in a square. (I don’t know why I can not make a proper link here πŸ™‚ Sometimes I just don’t understand this computer πŸ™‚

Some close up pics πŸ™‚

with curious little hands πŸ™‚

my-poncho6

I used the moss stitch to make the edging. (1sc-1ch-1sc etc etc ) and added some picots for the last round πŸ˜‰

my-poncho7

Did I say that I am in love with my poncho? No not yet…

Well… I AM MADLY TOTALLY TRULY IN LOVE WITH MY PONCHO.

I am right now wearing it while writing this post πŸ™‚ and I want to make two more for the girls πŸ™‚ Maybe with a thinner yarn and without the black background of course … We’ll see πŸ˜‰

Until then stay warm (under a blanket or a poncho)

and have a beautiful sunshiny and colorful day!

Love

Happy happy happy :)

Good morning!

I am happy happy happy to show you today the happy blankie in all its glory πŸ™‚

HAPPY-BLANKIE-1

It is finally finished and I love how it is right at home here πŸ™‚

HAPPY-BLANKIE-2

Lots of reds, oranges and yellows to match the warm colors of my home …

HAPPY-BLANKIE-3

I love it….looooove it and can’t wait for the cold days to snuggle under it. I think that we are all here waiting for thatΒ πŸ˜‰

HAPPY-BLANKIE-4

I crocheted this blanket with a 4mm crochet hook and used my faithful Nako Vizon 100% acrylic yarn.Β (Β The Nako Vizon is very similar to the stylecraft special DK between.)

HAPPY-BLANKIE-5

The pattern of each square is very classic and can be found here.

HAPPY-BLANKIE-6

As for the joining: I joined the squares with a line of sc. I held each two squares together (back on back) and worked the sc in the back loop of the two facing stitches.

HAPPY-BLANKIE-7

For the edging, when the blanket is very colorful like this one I prefer to have a simple edging: 3sc, 1sc-3ch-1sc, 3sc, 1sc-3ch-1sc, etc etc Or if you want it is: 3sc, 1 picot, 3sc, 1 picot πŸ˜‰

I love picots and I find them very beautiful on a blanket edge πŸ™‚

HAPPY-BLANKIE-8

I am so in love with my happy blankie. It is made with 155 squares (11×14) and I think that it will be cherished for many years to come …

HAPPY-BLANKIE-9

Have to go now… A lot of wips are waiting for me…

HAPPY-BLANKIE-10

A lot of work in my place too… A lot of everyday family chores but this blog is always in my heart and you too…

HAPPY-BLANKIE-11

So, my sweeties, I hope to be back to you very soon…

HAPPY-BLANKIE-12

Until then, take good care of yourself, stay warm (under a blanket or two πŸ˜‰ ) and have always sunshine in your heart…

Love and kisses

granny-with-white-3

and I started something new too… (can’t help myself) (If you follow me on facebook or instagram you already saw this pic below)…

I asked hubby when showing him this : What are you seeing? He answered: Nothing. πŸ™‚ But I was really happy that when I posted the pic on instagram and facebook you ladies saw hearts like myself…Yes, I saw hearts and fell in love with this…

It is a very old paper (a photocopie in black and white) I found in my mother’s house and I just could not help myself trying out the diagram… and it worked… and I am loving how it is turning out… So, if you’re interested, I’ll try to take a pic of the diagram and post itΒ for you…

That’s all sweet ladies around the globe… It was a pleasure being with you today… I’m sending you all my love and lots of kisses!

Thank you for visiting, for commenting and for asking about the situation in my country… You can never imagine how much I appreciate your kind messages πŸ™‚

THANK YOU!
