The Stylecraft secret project ♥ A granny scarf

By | October 1st, 2015|"done", colors and yarns, granny squares, scarf, stylecraft yarn, Uncategorized|12 Comments

Hello,

1

This little blog of mine was very lucky to be picked up between the blogs that are part of the Stylecraft blog tour. Do you remember the competition that Stylecraft held to add a new colour to their range? Well they made a pack of 10x50g of beautiful colours (the 10 finalists of the competition) and decided to send it for free for crochet and knitting bloggers around the world to try out the new colors….

I am very excited and very happy today to show you what I did with these wonderful colors…

1'

A scarf… a granny scarf in these beautiful DK shades… Do you like it?

1''

I did it for my oldest daughter and now my youngest wants one 🙂

2

I am a granny squares lover and with a pack of 10 x 50g I was not sure I could make a blanket so I made granny squares and turned them into a scarft 🙂 Simple but simple is the best ♥

3

I left the egg blue aside for the joining (the winner) and made one granny round with each of the 9 other shades. and then round two with each of the 9 left shades and then round 3 etc etc

4

At the end I’ve had 9 “unique” squares of 6 rounds each 🙂 and I joined them as I go with a last round in the egg blue 🙂

For the square’s pattern, click HERE ♥

and for the joining method, click HERE5

Once joined together, I found that the scarft was a little bit short if turned two times around the neck so I’ve made a 10th square and joined it to the others 🙂

6

So, my scarft was made finally with 10 squares (of 7 rounds each) joined together with the 7th round in blue.

7

Then I made 14 little circles. To make a circle I crocheted 12 tr in a circle of 4 chain.

8

And with the joining color I added these little circles to the scarf. I crocheted 1sc, 5 ch then added the first circle to the chain with a slip stitch then 5 ch, then 1sc (on the scarf)

9

then 5 ch, then the second circle, then 5ch, 1sc etc etc

10

and I added 7 little circles to one side of the scarf…

11

and the other 7 to the other side of the scarf…

12

and it was done 😉 My daughter loves it and so do I 🙂 Now, I have to make a second one for my youngest girl 🙂

14

These new colors are simply fantastic. I felt in love with them as soon as I saw them (specially the mustard yellow one so warm and beautiful ♥) and you know what? You can win your own pack! Yes your own pack of these beauties!! Because my friend there is a GIVEAWAY of this pack during each day of the blog tour and a pack to win EACH DAY! ISN’T THIS FABULOUS???

August is gone…

By | September 9th, 2015|A month with pics, Bedspread, Corners of my home, Crocheted blankets, granny squares, join-as-you-go, My family, Ripple, Uncategorized, wips|6 Comments

Hello!

August went really really fast this year and I still can not believe that we are already in September…

1

August was great. We went for a one week vacation to Club Med Palmiye Turkey and it was wonderful…

2

We spent a whole week with the children and I fully recharged my batteries 😉

3

I crocheted a lot in August… Finished my hexagons blanket (see previous post) and I started two bedspreads for the girls 🙂

5

I always wanted to make grannies bedspreads for my children. They have something I can’t explain. They remind me of my grandmother, the sweetness of my childhood and I really really love to crochet them…

4

They have a vintage touch I just adore 🙂 I am mixing different kinds of Stylecraft yarn. Mostly Stylecraft special DK, some Stylecraft alpaca tweed and some colors of the Stylecraft life range 🙂

6

I love the look of a granny square with mixed kinds of yarn ♥

For Christina my eldest daughter I’ll be joining the squares with parchment … and for Sarah, the joining color will be the dark grey (graphite) 🙂 My girls have very different characters and one is dark hair dark skin (Christina) the other is very blond (Sarah)

7

So contrasting grannies bedspreads they will have in their room 🙂 Can’t wait to finish them both 🙂

8

and  I am also still crocheting my ripple with the Stylecraft life Dk and loving it more and more ♥

11

August has brought some changes in my home too. We painted our walls and I chose the yellow mustard (my favorite color of the moment) to paint the wall behind our bed ♥

10

and a wall in our sitting room ♥

9

I just looooove LOVE LOVE this color. So bright, so fresh and sooo warm ♥

(The painting color’s name is honey mustard from DULUX)

That is all for today my dearest friends!

Have to go now…

Sending you hugs and kisses through this post ♥

Hexagons tadaaaaa

By | August 20th, 2015|"done", Crocheted blankets, Hexagons, Uncategorized|6 Comments

Hello sweet people,

2

My experience working with the Debbie bliss yarn was one of the most exciting. A pure pleasure to crochet with but very very expensive too. I think that once in a lifetime you must do something totally crazy and make a blanket that is gold worth 🙂

3

That yarn my friend is heaven. Totally heaven. The colors. The texture. Everything about it is heaven.

4

So no need to tell you again and again how I enjoyed making this blanket. I loved every second of it. Every stitch too ♥

5

♥ Yarn: Debbie bliss cashmerino aran

♥ Hook: 4.5mm

6

♥ Pattern: HERE

♥ Joining hexagons: As I go with the last round

♥ Edging: Very simple. 1sc, 3ch, 1sc all around the blanket

7

That blanket will live in our living room on the sofa and is already very cherished by everyone 🙂

8

I hope that it will be cherished for many many years to come and will always be associated with happy loving memories.

10

Love to all ♥
