Cushions, cushions and more cushions!

Goooooooooood morniiiiiiiiiing lovely people!

It’s a BOY!!! Yes, I’m expecting a boy and I’m really really happy about it 🙂 Some of you my friends suggested to keep the surprise for the birth but I can not …I’m too curious 🙂 I can not wait the whole 9 months to know if it will be a boy or a girl 🙂 I have to prepare crochet things too 😉

So, after my two girls (6 and 4 years old) I am very happy that number 3 is a boy 🙂 and I had tears in my eyes when I saw him moving inside me and hearing his heart beats …(I am sooo emotive when I’m pregnant … it is sometimes embarrasing in front of strangers 😀 )

Thank you so much for all your birthday greetings and your lovely messages 🙂 I am sooo lucky to have you all 🙂

Today, I will show you two new cushions I made lately 🙂 Yes, two 🙂 It’s cushionnnnn tiiiiiiiiiiiime 🙂

The first one is a patchwork crocheted one …I showed it to you as a wip…here it is: done 😉

I love it! It is sooo cute…don’t you think?

and then I made a second one inspired by the talented Lucy in her lovely post HERE. A fabric patchwork one ….Oh I am sooo proud of myself 🙂 This is the first time I ever made a patchwork and I love it too … see?

It is not perfect…It is made of small pieces of left over fabric and if you look closer you’ll discover that it is not perfect at all 🙂 but it is a first attempt and, no matter what you’ll say, I am proud of it 😀 hehe

I’ve even added some decorations 🙂

But don’t ask me about the zipper…hahaha…I will not show it to you … It is well hidden and not so nice to look at 🙂

But I promise, that next time, It will be better 🙂

but I love them together…two patchwork cushions…one crochet and one fabric…I thought about making one mixed (crocheted and fabric squares) but I don’t know what will it look like … have to try it…

I’m very happy that I don’t have anymore any beige cushions (the ones that comes with the sofas)… All are transformed 😉

And  this is my latest purchase (the fabric one with the button in the middle)

Oh how I love cushions! I can’t help myself bying and making new ones…It is addictive 🙂

Have to go now… I’ll be far from you my sweeties in the coming week…I’m taking a break with Hubby to recharge our batteries 😉

The girls are staying in their grandparents house and we’ll be on a cruise (Barcelona (Spain)- Roma (Italy) – Florence (Italy) and Cannes France) and then back to Barcelona between May11 and May 18 😀

I am sooooo thrilled about this trip ! I’ll miss you all! But will come back very soon with lots of pics!

Kisses!

On the hook…

Good morning sweeties,

I am so thankful for all the lovely comments you wrote concerning my home 🙂 I was so happy reading each word …some made me laugh and some brought tears to my eyes (don’t worry it is my “hormones” 🙂 ) Thank you sooo much! Your comments gave me back confidence about my decorating taste and the colors surrounding me…

You gave me back the joy I needed to live peacefully and happily in my loving home and that’s why I’m so thankful to you…You made me appreciate again my place…You really did a great job 😀 THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

Today, I want to show you a cushion I’m working on…It is a patchwork cushion crocheted with leftover “Mirage” yarn…

I think my house is full of leftover yarn and I don’t have any ball of yarn that is still totally new 🙂

Mirage is a 100% acrylic yarn worked with a 2.5mm crochet hook. Wanna take a look first to the yarn used ?

Yes, I know, you are like myself a yarn-addict 😉 and you totally love to see yarn pics…  I understand 🙂 hehe

I just love the colors and the softness of “Mirage”.  The only drawback of this is that yarn is very thin (crocheted with a 2.5 mm hook) but it is ok and I try to get used to it…

and this is the cushion I’m working on…mostly finished 🙂

I hope to make also some new covers for the leather stools I have at home with “Mirage” once the cushion is done…

I love these tiny granny squares joined together as-I-go …

What do you think?

I’m off now to take a cup of coffee in my favorite chair surrounded by my favorite colorful cushions and throws 😉

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sending you big big kisses and hugs through this post 🙂

Isn’t it too colorful?

Hellooooooooooooo!

How are you?

Two days ago, a friend passed by for a visit. A friend I had not seen for a long time and who’s living in France. When visiting my place, she asked with a weird tone: Isn’t it too colorful?

And these few words made me think about my place…Isn’t it too colorful? Was I doing too much? putting too much colors everywhere? Does my hubby like this sweet colorful home or he don’t tell anything to not hurt my feelings?

I was thinking and thinking about all these things and had a headache at the end …

I just love my home…I love every corner of it…but people keep saying to me that it is too colorful…sometimes they don’t tell directly…but they make sentences that hide this idea in them…

and sometimes people influence strongly our thoughts…You can tell to yourself that you don’t care … that you and your family’s opinions only counts but this does not prevent you to think and rethink about your decorating taste…

Sometimes, when it is late at night and the lights are on inside my neighbours homes I sit and imagine what do their interior looks like behind these windows…I love this game…it is one of my favorites 🙂 I imagine how their place is decorated…do they have colorful walls…colorful paintings…colorful sofas or everythink is gray or beige? do they care about what people tell or not at all?

and you? do you have colorful homes?  (I would really love to see some pics of your colorful  interiors 🙂 )

Do people tell you that it is too colorful? does this makes you think about your decorating taste or you don’t care at all?

Have a colorful day!

The joyful ripple

Good morniiiiiiing!

The first project for number3 is done 🙂 ! Hourray! and I love it! It is so easy and quick to finish a baby blanket that you become addicted and you want to crochet more and more! It is a really fun experience and you feel very happy to finish so quickly a project 🙂

Some pics of the joyful ripple for you my friend to enjoy …

Here it is:

The yarn is called “Mirage” and it is a 100% acrylic yarn crocheted with a 3mm hook… I really love this yarn…very soft (perfect for babies) with super colors …it is very similar to the Stylecraft special DK but a little thinner and the quality is better wash after wash…

I buy this yarn form a local shop here in Beirut …don’t know if they have an online shop…

The pattern of this ripple can be found HERE. It is a very easy to follow pattern and I love how it turns out 🙂

I did not make a border for this blanket as I prefered to leave it as it is and have the “waves” from two sides …

I am now on my week 17 of pregnancy… don’t know yet if it is a boy or a girl…will know maybe on the 7th of May (on my birthday) 🙂 as I have an “echo” (do we say echo in English?) and will let you know too 😉 of course 😉

I am not feeling until now any baby kicks …I am sooooo waiting for them 🙂 It is one of the best things about pregnancy…to feel your baby living inside of you…

So, my lovelies, that was the first finished project for little baby 🙂 The joyful ripple goes well for both baby boy or girl 🙂 Can’t wait to know if he is a he or she 🙂

I feel that I am on a little cloud of happiness 🙂 flying with birds high on the sky and I have all the time that idiot smile on my face 🙂

I wish to you too a very happy week  and an eternal smile on your face 🙂 Life is good!

Big kisses!
