Crochet, crochet and more crochet :)

Gooood morninnnnng!

How are you today? Even though it is monday and it is grey and it is raining and it is cold I’m feeling goooood 🙂 Hope you’re feeling the same 😉

This weekend I’ve made the first steps of Love Birds…and I enjoyed it to the max…

little 3 rounds-granny-squares 🙂

the hearts of Love Birds 🙂 I’ve made one with every color of my stash…

You can not imagine the amount of pleasure this new wip blanket is giving me 🙂

and I’ve made some progress on my rainbow ripple too…

I know, I know the colors are too bright…but I’m loving it for this particular reason… A rainbow must have bright colors, don’t you agree? It must brighten up the greyest days of winter !

8 more rows to go and I’ll finish it ! I’ll surely miss rippling with its bright colors… such a soothing effect 🙂

When I’ll finish my rainbow ripple, I want to crochet a cushion like this one. I fell crazy in love with this cute cushion made by the talented Paula! and ever since I’ve kept it in my mind 🙂 She even shared how she made it:here and she crocheted also another gorgeous one! Thank you Paula for this inspiring work!

Go visit Paula, She’s got a lovely blog where she share beautiful handmade cards and gorgeous crochet!

That’s it for today! It was all crochet talking 🙂 Don’t you sometimes feel so grateful because you know how to crochet? 🙂

Isn’t it wonderful that with this small piece that we call : “hook” and  some yarn you can make such beautiful things that make you and your loved ones so happy 🙂 ?

Happy monday to you all!

LOVE,

Sucrette

A new big hooky 2012 project!

Good morning lovely ladies,

Because I so want to get rid of my old stash of Nako yarn in order to buy new kind of yarn,

and because I want to start a long project,

and because I want to work on a simple-pattern-project that I can easily carry everywhere and I can grap whenever I want

I started: Love Birds.

I started Love Birds with a little fear (I must confess) because it is a very big project (a blanket to cover our double sized bed with more than a 100 squares) and every square is crocheted with only a couple of colors.

Wanna see?

Let’s take first a look at the yarn…mmmh…my favorite part:

I will not buy ANY NEW yarn for this project before I finish AAALLL this 🙂 This is my 2012 first goal 🙂

I will only buy for the joining because I’ll need then more than one ball from the same color.

I did not decide how I’m gonna join and with what color, I’ll have to crochet some squares first 😉

Ok, let’s take a look at the squares.

Yes granny squares! what else? 😉 Simple, traditional, granny squares with a couple of colors each! I don’t know why the pics are a little “yellowy” maybe it is due to the grey weather … but “live” the colors are yummy 😉

You, surely, understood now why I called it Love Birds… because each square is made with two colors and because it is for our bed 🙂

I’m crossing now my fingers to be able to accomplish such a big project… I need your support and your sweet words as always for an everyday’s push …I’m counting on you my dearest friends 😉

Love Birds will be my BIG project of the year! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Thank you for visiting today…

Have a super weekend!

Beautiful Bloggers Blanket 2012

Hello sweeties,

Yesterday, I decided to join the Beautiful Bloggers Blanket 2012 held by the wonderful Jill (Stocki).  Even though I am a little late, Jill told me that she will wait for my squares 🙂 Youpiiii! I am sooo thrilled to take part of this fabulous project!

What am I talking about? It is a big blanket made from squares from around the world… squares that you have to crochet and send to Jill 🙂 For each one you send you get an entry into the draw to win the whole blanket!

Here are the rules: The squares must be:

  • 100% cotton double knit only.
  • Any colour
  • Any pattern / stitch
  • Any size between 5cm x 5cm to 20cm – 20cm
  • You can send just 1 or as many as you like.  For each one you send you get an entry into the draw to win the whole blanket – so 1 square = 1 entry, 3 squares = 3 entries and so on.

The squares must get to Jill by 31th January but she will wait for yours a little longer if you still want to join in! Imagine a big blanket made from a big variety of squares coming from around the world…Isn’t it wonderful?

So, yesterday night I made 4 squares:

And I am sending them to Jill 🙂

They will be on their way from Beirut to Oxford by tomorrow morning!

So ? don’t you want to join in? come on! It is such a fun and lovely idea and you may win a beautiful blanket crocheted by so many wonderful ladies from aroud the globe !

For more info and to join, visit the lovely blog of Stocki here!

Big big kisses,

Small houses…

Good morning sweeties,

I’m very happy to be with you today and show you something I’ve made lately 🙂

It’s been two days I’m trying to upload pictures for this post and there was some problem with the server and I was going like crazy…so many things to share with you…but the technology won’t let me do it 🙁 But now the problem is finally fixed (thanks to hubby 🙂 ) and I am back 🙂

To take a little break from crochet and recharge my hooky battery which was low, I spent some time in my craft room: sewing…

Sewing, embellishing, and feeling so good about it! It is so great from time to time to take a little break from one craft in order to appreciate it even more 🙂 and I soooo did 🙂

So, let me show you today the little cuties I sew lately:

Small colorful houses inspired by the lovely work of Kajsa Wikman. Kajsa is a very talented scandinavian artist and I am so  in love with her “naive” and colorful style. You can visit her wondeful blog here.

That’s all for today! There is some new hooky stuff I can’t wait to show you next time!

Stay warm and see you very soon 🙂

P.S: Thank you for your wonderful response about Sucrette’s square 🙂 You can still find it in the right sidebar of this blog !
