The baby blanket

Good morning!

How was your week end? Hope it was great! Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my last post! I picked up one of the projects to start with…

Sorry, it is not the turtle πŸ™‚ But I promise, I promise that I’ll make that turtle soon πŸ™‚ It is a Sucrette’s promise πŸ˜‰

This special project I picked now holds a special place in my heart… It is a baby blanket I started back in September …I wasΒ at that timeΒ pregnant …then I made a miscarriage and lost my baby… So I left this blanket in THE BOX, heart broken πŸ™ I did not blog about it then because it was too sad and painful for me and I couldn’t express what I was feeling with words in a happy crochet blog …

And since that black day of September everytimeΒ I open that box and see that blanket my heart cries…But now that months have passed by and hope came back again and again I decided to finish this baby blanket and offer it to one of my pregnant friends (They are 4 πŸ™‚ )

I still have the yarn (It is Nako baby a mixture of 50%acrylic and 50%polyamid )…

Β

I still have the first two rows made…

I still have the 3mm crochet hook …

and I still have the pattern. It is HERE!

All I have to do is to give it a go, enjoy it because the yarn is the best yarn I ever touched in my whole life sooo soft and sooo good to crochet with and finish it so a small cute baby can be wrapped with love in it πŸ™‚

Have to go now…

I’m wishing you an excellent week!

Take care,

Sucrette

Back on the wheels: Sucrette’s square: two finished projects!!

Goooood morniiiing !

Yes, I’m back on the wheels… After a couple of gray days, light came back again in my life and mostly because of you and your supporting sweet words… Thank you so much my friend for your presence and for being so caring and loving…You’ll never know how much I needed every single word you left in the comments πŸ™‚

During the holidays, I worked on something I want to share with you today…In fact, the two new wips I talked about in this previous post were somehow linked in one new square I created during Christmas time.

Enough talking… let’s see something …I hear you say … ok ok πŸ™‚

With some thin cotton yarn, I’ve made some little colorful granny flowers…

and with these granny flowers I transformed a white lampshade…The same kind of lampshade I transformed back in 2010…Do you remember it?

But this time I used small granny flowers with hot glue…

and I prefer this one:

mmmh πŸ™‚ Isn’t it lovely?

And after I fall totally in love with this colorful granny flower …I decided to continue with the pattern and make it a square, yes, a little square with a 3D granny flower in it…

A little afghan block that can be used to make blankets, scarfs, potholders, coasters, cushions, table runners…etc…A variety of cute crocheted projects from this little square of mine…

Β I’m gonna call it : Sucrette’s square πŸ™‚ because it is granny and because it is colorful and because I created it and I’m madly in love with it πŸ™‚

Β So, with Sucrette’s square I’ve made these two:

Β A white lampshade decorated with little colorful granny flowers…

and…

A rectangle cushion with a green background like a field of flowers to welcome spring πŸ˜‰ (It is not too far anymore:) )

Sucrette’s square PDF pattern ( a graphic pattern with step by step pictures) will be available very soon in my etsy shop πŸ™‚ Yes, yes, yes, I’m gonna open an etsy shop and I’m totally excited about it!

And also available, very soon, here, to purchase for a very special symbolic price for you my dear friends…

Have to go now…back on the wheels…back to my ripple…and my painting…and and and… so many projects on my head… I wish I had 4 hands and days of 48 hours πŸ™‚

Love you all…and wish you a super day!

Vintage cushion!

Good morniiiiiiiiing!

Do you remember my wip vintage blanket that I started not long time ago? Well, it turned into a vintage cushion for my formal living πŸ™‚

It is made with a very thin acrylic yarn and I felt quite impossible to crochet a blanket with this kind of yarn (lazy lazy πŸ™‚ ) … So I transformed it…

Here is the result…

A big vintage cushion πŸ™‚ (60x60cm)

LOVE LOVE LOVE it πŸ™‚

Love it even moreΒ  in my living next to the round granny one…

LOVE it sooo much that I decided to make another cushion just to go with these two…

I’ll show you something next time πŸ˜‰ Stay tuned!

Before I go I want to thank Grace Ann for the Versatile blogger award! This is very sweet from you Grace Ann! Thank you sooo much!

and thank you all for visiting πŸ™‚

Have a wonderful day!

Daisies in a square baby blanket hourray!

Hello there!

What a title to a post eh? πŸ™‚ hehe

As you already guessed the blanket is over πŸ™‚ and it is delicious πŸ™‚ wanna take a look?

Not my kind of colors but it turned out good … and I am happy πŸ™‚

It measures 75x90cm which is a good size for a baby blanket…

I made the border using this pattern but I made half trebles instead of trebles …

The yarn I used is “Nako baby” 60% bamboo 40% polyamid… too bad you can only find pastels colors…because the yarn is so soft it is a pure pleasure to work with…

The crochet hook is a 4mm one. You can find here the graphic pattern for this blanket… Sorry again if I can only make graphic patterns … I am really really bad at explaining with words and I can not, myself, follow written patterns πŸ™

and now I can not wait to get back to my bright, bold and happy colors again πŸ˜‰ Youpiiii!

but will miss for sure the softness of this yarn …

Thank you for visiting πŸ˜‰

Have a nice day!

An award and some progress…

Good morning !

I received a while ago an award from a very sweet lady…

Thank you so much Kerry!

Kerry have a wonderful blog…you can visit it here!

So, for the award I have to tell some things about myself…

Yalla…

1-I really really love colors…colors everywhere and specially in homes but it seems like most of the homes I visit are “beige” or “white” and this really annoys me!!

2- My favorite color is: red or purple or orange or yellow or even turquoise …in fact I have plenty of favorite colors πŸ˜‰ and every week I seem to have a new favorite color πŸ™‚

3- I love big families…for me the perfect picture of happiness is a big family with 4 or 5 kids dining around a big table laughing and eating with a fire in a cosy fireplace …

4- I’m afraid to death of death πŸ™‚ In fact this is a real obsession for me…I keep thinking about the day I’ll be dead or somebody I cherish will be gone and I cry and I cry … I don’t know how to face this fact and I keep reading books about it…but no result πŸ™

5- I love simple pleasures of life: sometimes, just sitting in the garden watching the girls playing makes my heart happy happy happy πŸ™‚

6- I hate to shop clothes…for myself…yes yes yes…I wish I can stay in my jeans and a very large t-shirt for the rest of my life and nobody tells me I have to be “pretty” for the others GRRRRRRR!

7- I live in a country (Lebanon) where everything is fake…specially the women…plastic surgery is the latest fashion…All the women have the same fake nose, the same fake cheeks and the same stretched skin around the eyes…in fact they all looks the same…its dramatic !

8- I hate going to hairdressers…fixing the color and cutting my hair is my nightmare! and this is what I’m making today!!!

9- I love eating a lot, specially sweets and chocolate…and I am constantly beginning diets…just beginning … πŸ˜€

10- Sometimes I wish to live alone in an island with my children, my husband and my family and of course my crochet and the internetΒ  and you πŸ˜‰ …

that’s it my lovelies!

Now I have to pass this on (and this is the hardest part as there is a thousand of lovely blogs I visit and all the blogs are wonderful! really!)

So, voila, I pass this award to:

1- Saritha from http://hooksneedlesandme.blogspot.com/

2- Debi from http://hooksandyarns.blogspot.com/

3- Severine from http://severine56.canalblog.com/

4- Jane from http://hook-and-yarn.blogspot.com/

5- Karen from http://4lilgirls.blogspot.com/

6- Mamzelle Flo from http://fantaisiesdeflo.canalblog.com/

7- Karen from http://www.barefeetandafreespirit.blogspot.com/

8- Linda from http://www.theknitoriousmrsb.blogspot.com/

and Esther from http://happyinred.blogspot.com/

Go have a visit! It is really worth it!

and finally before I go, I have to show you two pics:

It still needs some ironing and framing…but I’m happy with it πŸ™‚

and…

My “daisies-in-a-square-baby-blanket” wip…

All the squares are done…Still have the joining round and the border…So a “tadaaa” post is coming very soon πŸ˜‰
