Rainbow ripple: A new WIP on the go…

Good morning my friend!

How are you feeling today? I hope that a big smile is illuminating your face in this grey morning 🙂

Another Monday, another week, another day to love, another day to be thankful for all the joys granted ! Trying to live everyday as if it is my last… (trying, just trying, sometimes it doesn’t work 😉 )

I enjoyed so much my ripples of happiness that once it was done I felt like something was missing in my crochet life… so, I started another ripple … yes another one 🙂

Although I am still crocheting Myyy vintage blanket (I’m joining the squares of the last 4 rows now) I needed a ripple as second wip…to alternate between the joys every project gives and to not get bored too…

So, I had to…start another ripple…

Let’s show you first the yarn…mmmh…yarn is one of the best things man has ever invented 😀 hahaha  Don’t you agree? 😀

I want this time to use the colors of the rainbow as they are…

… pure and bold and in sequence as in a rainbow…

…because nothing is better in a grey and cold day (or night) of winter than to snuggle under a rainbow warm blanket 🙂

The yarn is (once more) Nako Vizon a 100% acrylic and very soft yarn… (still waiting for their online shop so you can order your nako yarn too wherever you are around this globe 😉 )

I’m following this pattern

choosing the colors as they come in the rainbow…

and alternating the number of rows of every color as in Lucy’s ripple

I’m loving it so far… loving it loving it toooooo much… I even crocheted the pink-red-orange part and it is “light” mmmh a lovely warm kind of “light” but I did not take pics yet (I’ll show you next time)

and did you spot my new basket??? It is the most perfect basket for crochet I’ve ever had so far… It is big enough to hold all the yarn colors I use (sometimes more than 20!) and it can even holds two WIP together 🙂 I’m in love with it!

Have to go now… I’ve got a very busy day today!

Sending you BIG parcels of love through this post… Catch them 😉

Have a lovely day!

For a happy friday…

Good morning!

Here is an update of my ripples of happiness 🙂

I don’t know if you noticed something has changed in the blanket (apart from the fact that I added more rows of course 😉 ) … In the third picture you can guess…

Yes, the beginning of the blanket has changed 🙂 Remember my first post ? I started the blanket with the green color and now the first row is in orange ..well I did not unravel or start again from the beginning…no…I just added some rows to the beginning of my ripple…

Well, to tell you the truth, I did not like at all how the first rows looked like and how the whole color scheme of the blanket was not my-kind-of-colors-scheme….and I hate, HATE, to unravel something… so I had to improvise 🙂 and the result was amazing 🙂

So, my lovelies, if you’re following my ripples of happiness pattern and you’re not pleased by the colors of your first rows, I’ll tell you in my next post how to add some rows to the other part of your blanket (the beginning part) 😉

Now, I can tell , that I am happy, really really happy with my ripple…I feel that it is “me” again and when you feel that a project is “you” you crochet it with LOVE 🙂 much much more LOVE 🙂

Hope that you’re loving your wip project as much as I do…

Thank you so much for visiting today 🙂

Happy friday!

So I started my ripple…

Hello my friend,

How are you today? Hope life is good…

So, I started my ripple…

With the first two colors (dark green and light salmon) I was like: Ughhh not a very good start…

Then I added the turquoise….and I was like: mmmh a little better…

Then I added the red and I was like: OOOOH so much better… 🙂

Then I added the yellow-mustard and I was like: woaaah hello Sunshine 😀

I’m loving loving loving too much my “Ripples of Happiness”! The pattern is very simple to follow…you have to try it and you’ll see 😉 (veeeeeeeeery simple)

For this project I am using a different pattern from Lucy’s one… Same concept but a little more wavy…

I’m drawing right now a graphic pattern for you if you’re interested 🙂 (I’ll post it next time)

I am enjoying so much this ripple along held by Lucy and Heather 🙂 and I so encourage you to join us!

Go take a peek here there is a lot of ripples inspiring projects to look at 😉

Have to go now… The girls are at home today…

Take care and happy crocheting!

YARN how I love you :)

Good morning sweeties!

When I went yarn shopping 2 days ago I was singing in the rain 🙂 Yes, it was raining and the sky was dark grey but I had sunshine in my heart and I was sooo joyful! I think one of my best things to do is yarn shopping and I know that I am not alone 😉

So, I chose some yarn to add to my “Stripes of Love”, my Husband’s blanket…

Yes, I know, not my-kind-of-colors … but I like them… and they will be great when added to the blanket…

and I chose some more yarn so I can start a ripple and join the ripple along held by Lucy and Heather !

I don’t know yet when I’ll begin my ripple…I have two blankets on the go, you know, and this ripple will be my third blanket on the go :S but I could not resist… (who could?)

So I bought some yummy yarn in delicious colors 🙂

Here they are: 15 colors so far:

dark green – very light green – red – blue – orange – leaf green – light salmon

very light blue – dark red – yellow mustard – deep pink – light turquoise – dark mauve – green – purple

Don’t know yet if I’ll use them all and if I’ll add some more colors or no….

but I looooooooove them! The colors are really really beautiful in “live”…

The yarn is called Nako Nakolen. It is a 50% wool 50% acrylic blend….

Very soft and so perfect to crochet with… I keep opening the box, touching the yarn, dreaming and closing the box 🙂 (crazy crazy crazy crazy)

My hand is itching and I don’t know yet when my resistance will fail and I’ll finally begin my “Ripples of happiness” (This is how I’m gonna call this blanket to be)

So, I’m going right right now to join the ripple along! There is a flickr group here ! Come on, join me there! It will be a lovely experience 🙂

Have a terrific day!

P.S: My blooming flower cushion is done so a tadaaaa post is coming very soon….Stay tuned 😉

A third project on the go :)

Good morniiiiiiiing sweet people!

When I first saw Lucy’s blooming flower cushion I thought to myself I have to make one of my own, I HAVE TO!

This flower cushion is incredibly beautiful, wonderful, amazing …. I fell crazy in love and was a little bit afraid of the tutorial thinking that it was maybe too hard and complicated… and then, I tried it one night…and it worked…and when you’ve done the first four rounds it becomes very simple… ooooh a lovely tutorial with a lovely result… Thank you so much Lucy!

Before trying it, I decided to use the same thin acrylic yarn that I used for this cushion and this one! It is called : Mirage 100%acrylic yarn and I have some leftover in beautiful colors…

It is much thinner than the Nako yarn I normally work with to make most of my blankets and projects!  and it is crocheted with a 3mm hook !

So, after I put all my left over mirage yarn in my plastic basket I began following stitch after stitch Lucy’s lovely tutorial that you can find here!

I can tell you something about this tuto…it is very addictive…and the more you work on…the more beautiful it becomes….the more you want to crochet….

I even added 3 more rounds yesterday evening to show them to you… This is how it looks like this morning 🙂

My husband who never never comment on any of my hook projects said to me yesterday: ” This is beautiful!! ” 😀 (lucky me 🙂 )

I’m thinking about making it very very big…. 45 cm diam…but I don’t know if the tutorial will still work for so many number of rounds… do you have any idea? Did anyone of you worked on this and made it very big? I would really love to know…

Anyhow, Thank you again Lucy for this marvelous project!

and thank you all for visiting today!

Sending you parcels of love via this blog 🙂

Warm kisses!
