Every day…

Good morning sweeties,

Every day, every single day, when the girls go to school and Hubby go to work, I begin my little walk through the house, looking around a smile on my face…

On the living room’s couch, there is always the same little mess, the kind of mess that I adore, the kind of mess I look at and my heart sings with joy…

the proof that we were all here yesterday evening, snuggled on the same couch, together enjoying family life … and this simple pic of my home’s mess makes my heart happy and my soul thankful 🙂

So, I do, every day, what all the mothers and the housewives around the world do, I pick up things from the floor (it seems I am picking all day long things from the floor), specially cushions and I try, as much as I can, to make home a less messy and a happier place to live in….Isn’t it our job ? 🙂

But today, with all the every day’s things I make usually, I have a small extra pleasure to share with you…my Christmas gift from me to me arrived two days ago 🙂 …(yes, the post in my country is soooooooo sloooooooooow…it takes ages to receive an online order…and sometimes you receive, sometimes you never 🙁

But this time, I received the  lovely books I was so waiting for…and I so want to show them to you…

Can’t wait to open them, smell their pages and enjoyyyyyy them 🙂

Hope you have, in your life, every day a small extra pleasure to enjoy… it can be anything…a lovely book… a big hug…a kind word…or a ray of sunshine…

Big big kisses,

Sucrette

The baby blanket: more progress

Bonnnjouuur les amis,

Thank you so much! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your sweet and so generous words you left on my last post… They gave me a “puch” I was hoping for… To know that so many of you passed through the same painful experience and that I was not alone gave me strengh and hope again… Yes,I know, we, women, are fighters but we need sometimes someone to just remind us 🙂 You’ll never know how much your supporting and kind words means to me…I am so happy and lucky to have you all!

 T H A N K    Y O U!

I’ve made some progress I want to show you today…

Some circles crocheted in series…

This yarn I am using is a pure pleasure! you’ll never guess how much it is soft and lovely to crochet with.It is called: Nako Baby a mixture of 50% acrylic 50% polyamid… If you don’t have Nako in your country, I suggest you look for this kind of mixture( ACRYLIC-POLYAMID)  in another brand….because it is PERFECT 🙂

Have to join them now to the two-already-made-rows 🙂 yayyyy! How I love the join-as-you-go step! One of my favorite project parts 🙂

Sending you love, hugs and kisses through this post 😉

Have a super day!

The baby blanket

Good morning!

How was your week end? Hope it was great! Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my last post! I picked up one of the projects to start with…

Sorry, it is not the turtle 🙂 But I promise, I promise that I’ll make that turtle soon 🙂 It is a Sucrette’s promise 😉

This special project I picked now holds a special place in my heart… It is a baby blanket I started back in September …I was at that time pregnant …then I made a miscarriage and lost my baby… So I left this blanket in THE BOX, heart broken 🙁 I did not blog about it then because it was too sad and painful for me and I couldn’t express what I was feeling with words in a happy crochet blog …

And since that black day of September everytime I open that box and see that blanket my heart cries…But now that months have passed by and hope came back again and again I decided to finish this baby blanket and offer it to one of my pregnant friends (They are 4 🙂 )

I still have the yarn (It is Nako baby a mixture of 50%acrylic and 50%polyamid )…

I still have the first two rows made…

I still have the 3mm crochet hook …

and I still have the pattern. It is HERE!

All I have to do is to give it a go, enjoy it because the yarn is the best yarn I ever touched in my whole life sooo soft and sooo good to crochet with and finish it so a small cute baby can be wrapped with love in it 🙂

Have to go now…

I’m wishing you an excellent week!

Take care,

Sucrette

The traditional granny square

Good morning sweet friends,

How was your weekend? Hope that it was a little less cold in your part of the world…Here it was sunshine with a good 18 celcius d. so yesterday the girls played outside and had so much fun after weeks of gray and rainy days stucked indoors 🙂 Sunshine again…yes spring is not so far anymore …

I’ve made more squares for my Love Birds blanket…I’m getting a little bored from this square 🙁 …so I must work on something else in parallell if I want to be able to finish it …yes 121 squares is something huge and I can not work it without crocheting another wip at the same time… for the distraction 😉

Some of you asked me how I begin a new row when I don’t want to change the color and cut the thread… Well I’ve made a small graphic for you to understand this small trick…it is so easy …

Here is the graphic of the traditional granny square I’m making for Love Birds (the first 4 rounds):

and here are the symbols used:

As you can see in the graphic, you have to close each round with a sc (U.S)  instead of crocheting one ch and a slip stitch. With this sc, you’ll be able to stay in the corner ( hope you’re understanding what I mean 🙂 ) and begin a new round with 3ch instead of the first dc (U.S) !

For each Love birds square, I crocheted the first 3 rounds with one color and then the next four rounds in another color…

and round8 with the lovely turquoise color (I’m so in love with this color, thank you so much for all your kind comments concerning my joining colors…now, thanks to you, the turquoise is surely a winner 🙂 ) and then I’ll join my squares with a line of sc (U.S) with the darker turquoise ! (You can see a small sample of the result in this previous post)

So, my sweeties, this is it! I have now to find a new wip so I can work on more than one project…yes, I am not a monogamous woman (is that an english word or translator is giving me wrong translations?????) I can never stick on one project at a time …

Have to leave you now… and go see my box-of-left-behind-wips 😉

Have a wonderful week!

P.S: Thank you so much Olga, Heidi, Carol and Cynthia  for the versatile Blogger award! That is really sweet from you 🙂 THANK YOU !

Love Birds: A small sample :)

Good morniiiiing!

This is for you a small sample to show you how I’m gonna join the squares of Love Birds. I’m so in love with this blue-turquoise-teal color that I did not help myself using it as a joining color 🙂

I made a granny round in turquoise for every square then I joined the squares together with a line of sc (U.S) (dc U.K ) (m.s France) with the dark turquoise.

and I love the result 🙂 love love love!

What do you think??  Is it good or will it be better with a white classic joining? or some other color you’ll suggest? I really would love to have your opinion…Remember: It is a very big blanket for our double sized bed and the walls are light blue in our room…

Voila voilou 🙂 Hope you liked it!
