My poncho…

and to my lovely french friends: Rosalie a gentiment propose le pattern en francais pour celles qui le desirent…le debut est un peu different mais le resultat le meme πŸ™‚ Vous pouvez trouver le tuto ICI! Merci infiniment Rosalie πŸ™‚

So, today, I want to share with you the beginning of my poncho…

Let’s take a look at the yarn first…well, do you remember the yarn I showed you in this post ?

Yes, it is the new Nako: the superlambs special a 50%acrylic, 50% wool that I’ll be using for my poncho.

There is 12 colors… deep colors that reminds you the autumn …

and I’ve totally fallen in love with these colors…they are my colors of the moment πŸ˜€ hehe

and now, let’s take a peek to the first 4 rounds of the poncho…

I’m crocheting the poncho with a 4.5mm crochet hook. I’ve started it with a chain of 88ch…yes, my head is a little big πŸ˜‰

Don’t forget: Your beginning chain must be a multiple of 8 and big enough to enter through the head!

I’m very pleased with the first 4 rounds of my poncho πŸ™‚ and I am sooo thrilled about it…when I’m doing things around the house I keep thinking about the moment I will grab my hook and add some rounds πŸ™‚

So, my lovelies, if you did not join us yet, I hope that today you will change your mind πŸ™‚ Come onnnnnnnnnnnn! We are waiting for youuuuuuuuuuuuu!

Spoil yourself with a poncho!

Good morning sweet people,

As you already guessed from the title of this post, the new cal (crochet-a-long) will be a poncho πŸ™‚ Yes, an adult granny poncho.

As we always crochet for the others, making blankets for all the members of the family and crocheted gifts for our friends, this project is totally selfish. For spring and autumn, a poncho is something special to wear…it makes you warm and happy for no reason πŸ™‚

So, my sweeties, what do you think? Are you in? Are you totally thrilled by this project like myself? I think it will be awesome if once the ponchos are made, to set a particular day so we can all wear our ponchos πŸ™‚ A “poncho day” for you sweet ladies around the world ! I just love this idea πŸ˜€

Let’s set up now some rules, shall we? πŸ˜‰

Rule1: Crochet a granny poncho for yourself. And if it is not your kind of clothing to wear, crochet a poncho for your child, your daughter, your mother or as a gift for a special friend.

Rule2: No date limit to finish the poncho. You can begin it and finish it whenever you want πŸ™‚

Rule3: No special colors to use. It can be very colorful (like mine πŸ˜‰ ) or crocheted with just one color or two…It is up to you!

Rule4: No special yarn to use also… You can crochet it with acrylic, wool, cotton or whatever you like.

Rule5: Pattern: HERE! It is a granny pattern, very simple and easy to follow. It is a graphic pattern but I tried, yesterday evening to add a small paragraph to it, to explain it with written directions… If you have any problem starting the poncho, don’t hesitate to tell and I will help you. This pattern is totally addictive, you’ll see πŸ˜‰

If you want to see some crocheted ponchos with this pattern, go here!

So, these were the rules. Are you joining in this fun project? Come one! Let’s spoil ourselves with a poncho! Let it be a selfish project and we will all encourage one another in creating this “happy piece of clothing” to wear on the grayest days πŸ™‚

If you want to join, leave me a comment on this post or here in this flickr discussion or here in this ravelry discussion and tell me if it will be for you or for somebody else and what yarn you’ll be using. Don’t forget to post your blog address if you have one!

I created also a flickr group and a ravelry one so we can all share our pics and progress…

I am sooo happy already πŸ™‚ Come on! Join in! It will be so much fun!

I’m waiting for youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

Have a bright and colorful week!

A monday morning…

Good morning my sweeties,
How are you feeling today? How was your weekend?
Here, the weather was perfectly springy this weekend and the children played outside … it was a perfect weekend with sunshine and even birds singing…
This morning, the gray weather came back again and after the girls go to school I took some pics of the garden… a garden a little sad without sunshine and the children’s laughter …

I live near my parent’s house and we have theΒ garden between the two houses…

So, from our terrace, the girls can call Geddo and Setto πŸ™‚ (It is how we call the grandparents here in Lebanon)

I’ve made some progress with my baby blanket this weekend…

I’ve already crocheted all the circles and I still have to join two rows of squares and make a cute edging…

So, my sweeties, a tadaaaa post is coming soon πŸ˜‰

Also, next time, I’ll open for you this lovely book (in the pic above) so you can take a peek to its beautiful pics…Believe me, it is a DELICIOUS book πŸ™‚

So, stay tuned πŸ˜‰

and have a marvellous monday!

P.S: About the Nako yarn, I know that many of you would love to try out this yarn and order some online, I’m trying as hard as I can to make that happen, I’ll tell you more about it if it works…(crossing my fingers)!!

The baby blanket: more progress

Bonnnjouuur les amis,

Thank you so much! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your sweet and so generous words you left on my last post… They gave me a “puch” I was hoping for… To know that so many of youΒ passed throughΒ the same painful experience and that I was not alone gave me strengh and hope again… Yes,I know, we, women, are fighters but we need sometimes someone to just remind us πŸ™‚ You’ll never know how much your supporting and kind words means to me…I am so happy and lucky to have you all!

Β T H A N KΒ Β  Β Y O U!

I’ve made some progress I want to show you today…

Some circles crocheted in series…

This yarn I am using is a pure pleasure! you’ll never guess how much it is soft and lovely to crochet with.It is called: Nako Baby a mixture of 50% acrylic 50% polyamid… If you don’t have Nako in your country, I suggest you look for this kind of mixture( ACRYLIC-POLYAMID) Β in another brand….because it is PERFECT πŸ™‚

Have to join them now to the two-already-made-rows πŸ™‚ yayyyy! How I love the join-as-you-go step! One of my favorite project parts πŸ™‚

Sending you love, hugs and kisses through this post πŸ˜‰

Have a super day!

THE BOX is open!

Hello, hello, hello!

Well well well, I laughed and I laughed reading your comments πŸ™‚ It seems we have all the same problem with yarn and left behind wips and boxes and bags too πŸ™‚ hehehe

So, my sweet friends, I’m gonna open today THE BOX πŸ™‚ Are you reaaaaaadyyyyyyyyyy?

As you noticed, the box is full of all sorts of projects, blocks I loved and wanted to keep for future reference, wips left-behind for no particular reason… getting bored I think is the main reason for leaving a wip…

This was me trying some blocks from: “200 crochet blocks” (You can find this book in the left sidebar of the blog)… I wanted to make a blanket but I did not like at all the result…It was a sort of “BEUUURKKK!” thing with all these “unmatched” colors …but because I hate to unravel anything I kept it! The blocks are lovely…each and every one alone without the others πŸ˜‰

This pic has different kind of blanket blocks… with different combinations of colors I was trying… and new stitches too …etc etc

This … (some of you asked me about these hexagons) …this is supposed to be a turtle πŸ™‚ Yes a turtle for my girl’s room door… I don’t know why I did not finish it… I wanted to make a small round cushion stuffed with small stones and sand and sew this hexagonal thing on it…then make a head and 4 legs…very simple… and very cute… I really should finish it and make a tuto for it too πŸ™‚ It will be fun! Colorful, hexagonal turtles for the house !

This (the one on the left, the two big squares joined together) was supposed to be a BIIIG blanket for our bed … I don’t remember why I stopped it … I must haveΒ been at the time not-in-the-mood-for-big-projects πŸ˜‰

Granny squares, Oh how I love granny squares! Different color combo and different first rounds too… trials trials that never led to something πŸ™‚ but sometimes, you crochet little things just for fun…without any particular goal… don’t you agree?

Different blocks to keep for future lack ofΒ inspiration…

Some of them are my own creation (like the one with a white border up)… some not… but all of them are loved and kept like a treasure in THE BOX … πŸ™‚

Now, I know, what project to pick… will tell you all about it next time πŸ˜‰

Hope you enjoyed THE BOX πŸ™‚

Have a beautiful day!
