Crochet in the sun

By
August 24, 2013

My country is slowly drowning in the blood and all I can do is crochet in the sun to take the negative thoughts and the stress away…
I feel like a small ant in a big black world unable to protect my beloved ones…
All I can do is pray… Pray for better days… Pray for my little country… Pray for peace and love…
Please join me in my prayers….
Thank you from the bottom of my heart…
And sorry for this “unhappy” post…

wish your country drowning in the peace…
this is piece of a very nice Persian poem :
جهانی را تصور کن، بدون نفرت و باروت
بدون ظلم خود کامه، بدون وحشت و تابوت
جهانی را تصور کن، پر از لبخند و آزادی
لبالب از گل و بوسه، پر از تکرار آبادی
Imagine a world without hate and gunpowder
No authoritarian oppression, no fear, no coffin
Imagine a world full of smiles and freedom
Chock-full of flowers and a kiss, filled with repeating of villages

    Dear Sucrette,
I so very much hope for you and your beautiful country (just had vacation in Lebanon two years ago) that you will stay safe!
You will be in my thoughts!
I just got an idea to crochet a round potholder in peace sign style and when it is ready I will hang it out from my window, for your country, for Syria, Egypt…
    Please stay safe!!!!

Unfortunately our lives and relities are sometimes very tragic and all can we do is praying and ask our friends to pray with us. In my little country it was the war – it was “finished” 18 years ago and we are still remeber this time, so I can relate to your feelings and fears. I hope it will be some other solution soon enough to avoid so many victims, fears, tragedies. We can not help other than to let yu know we are thinkig of you and your country and praying…..
    Big hug 🙂

You and your beautiful country are sadly stuck between a rock and a hard place. It is becoming hard to imagine a peaceful solution to all the problems in the countries around you and you are stuck in the middle of it all. You, who bring colour and light through your blog have to live in deepening darkness, one of the many sadnesses in your part of the world. All you can do is love a little stronger, hold those you love a little tighter and try to believe that this will one day get better-it has before. Take care and I hope with all my heart that peace will come one day to your region. Debby.x

    Dear Angie,
I hope and pray that you and your family will be safe and there will be peace in your country and the countries around it. (and the world)

In the meantime, keep on making beautiful things and planning for more creations in the future. I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful pieces that you generously share with us. You inspire me.

I am praying very hard for my son and daughter they have travelled to your country from England. My son is getting married there to his Syrian fiancée because it’s too dangerous to go to Syria right now. It breaks my heart to see what is happening over there, I have family and friends in Syria who are in a living hell. I’m praying for you all Stay safe Angie! xx

Dear Angie, your efforts here at le monde de Sucrette are living proof of something wise Blessed Mother Teresa once said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” Your sweet spirit and lovely, lively handcrafts have created an international community of goodwill that brings joy to all of us here in your own little corner of the internet. God bless us, every one.

  21. Tami

I’m so sorry such a beautiful person (not speaking of outer beauty which I am sure you have but inner beauty which shines through the words you write and the art you design) who can create such beautiful things and write with such passion has to be subject to such hatred that surrounds you and your family. But remember there is ultimately a greater need for you to be where you are. Keep doing as you do you can make a difference. Prayers and hugs to you and your family and all concerned.

  22. Sara

    Dear Angie

Please hold fast with your family. I am thinking off you and hoping that peace will be returned soon. Your blog does not have to keep us happy but use it to help you if you can. Maybe crochet can bring a little calm, I hope so. I am wishing you well and hoping fervently that you stay well, happy and safe. You are a good, kind person and I know it will be so. I hope better days are ahead of you.
Take care, be strong, Sara xx

i pray for you and for a better world…. a world where people remember God and turn to him with gratitude and praise for his goodness and blessings to his children. I pray that he will keep you and protect you in the arms of his love. Thank you for your joyful blog. I always look forward to your posts. I can feel your love for life and for your fellow men in the words and thoughts that you express.

    Angie,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. We will add you and your country to our Bible study prayer list and also to the prayers at our church tomorrow. I know very little about your country but I do pray it will be ok for you and yours. God is in charge and he will love and hold you all in his hands.

  29. beth j

I pray for you and your country and this world we live in. I wish we could find a way to stop the violence and hate. My life is not touched by war but I have a biracial grandson that I am raising and the open hatred that I experience is mindblowing. Hes a small innocent child……..I don’t understand people.

  30. Madeleine

    Dear Angie,
today is a day of mourning in your country, so I heard on the news this morning, and I thought of you right away, and prayed for you.
May God give you peace in your heart and protect you and your family. He is still in charge, and one day he will end all wars. We wish he would hurry!
My husband joins me in praying for you, and we pray for your country in church!
    Much love!

Oh dear, I feel so very sorry for you and your countrymen/women but I don’t know where you live. The world is not a good place nowadays, life is not like it used to be. I am 69 and think I and people just a little younger, have had the best times.

It is good that you are able to make such beautiful, colourful things, that are helping to ease the pain.

Love and best wishes. I don’t pray, but do think!

Sending You additional Love Light COmfort and Grace Dear Angie….
There is still much goodness and Hope in the world…. I know in your country and many other places in the world there does not seem to be much balance and that there is much darkness fear and anger….. Trust in the Best of Humanity, try to have faith that these grim and frightening days will also pass and that once again there will be a sense of harmony and ease in your country!!!
Holding you in my heart and prayers each and every day!!! DO not invite fear in as the Universe sends more of what we focus on…. Better to create in the Sun using all of the bright and glorious colors You so adore and attract more of the same!!!

As a fellow stay at home Mom to three (5, 3, and 1) that also has a passion for crochet and sewing I felt as if I had found a long lost sister when I first discovered your blog although I knew not where you live. Oh Angie!! My heart goes out to you and your family; and our prayers are with you. I see the reports on the news and think of you every time; not sure how one would learn to cope with that sort of ongoing strife! It is certainly not a very healthy way to live. I have often wondered about the constant upheaval in the entire Middle East region, wondering how many people will be left to lay claim to their “homelands”, after all the dust is settled and there is nothing left to lay claim to. It is a truly counterproductive way of doing things. I will be thinking of you and your family!!

I read your blog regularly and love it. Please stay safe during this awful time. We must hope for the best. I relate so much to your worries. I am a neighbour in the region and pray for your safety and peace for all.

  57. Rosalie

I think we need more woman to run our countries and less men…especially in military too…I think if woman ruled their countries we would all live in peace …..also countries that live by tribal rules is very old fashioned it does not work in a modern world. Society needs to do away with tribal mentality and let each person decide for themselves how to live their life. I wish you much peace. I will worry for you about your situation if you will worry about mine…I need to find a job and a house really soon and get a car and I have no money at all to do it with…so keep me in your thoughts while I struggle in my journey and I will do the same for you. Be the best you can be and if you need to cry I will cry with you. Peace be with you and your family.

  58. Diane

I am praying for you, your family, your country and all countries that are at war. Sending you big hugs!

Hello Angie. I too am one of your regular visitors who takes much delight in your bright patterns and kindhearted blog entries. It brings me a lift anytime I visit, and I opened your blog now after lamenting about the turmoil our world is in. My heart has been burdened for Egypt, Syria, China villagers, India, Nigeria conflict regions, and the U.S. (quiet discord and bitterness when I read commentary on new articles even as we commemorate the movement of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.). I thought Lebanon was a place of refuge for Syrians, although with limited resources. I did not realize the crisis, and I will be praying for you and the nation and the whole region. I am praying for God’s light to shine brighter and for peace to take root. Sending love and living hope to you: my neighbor and sister.
