knitting…

Good morning sweet people around the globe!

It is so good to have you here today!

It is been a long time since I last picked up my knitting needles…I missed them and missed their sweet music …

knitting

I started this simple cowl last week… It will become a closed cowl once I’ll sew the beggining row with the last row…something to keep my neck warm in winter…

I love the very simple basic stitch in knitting… I think it is the best… (my knitting skills are very basic you know 😉 )

I love how the front is different from the back… I prefere the back… I love how the colors melt together on the back…

knitting3

That’s why I started with a 2rows/color and then discovered that when I make 3rows/color I can have that melting sheme on the front too…

But finally I went back knitting 2rows/color… so I can wear it differently on both sides (I hope that this makes sense to you 😀 )

I hope to finish it one day…

I have to confess something… I never ever started and finished a knitting project…This is a huge but true confession hehehe

I hope that this time will be an exception…

Knitting for me is like having a date with a loving ex when you are happily married… While I knit I enjoy it a lot but always feel like I’m being unfaithful to crochet … and my joy don’t last for too long 🙂

Till now it is lasting and I am enjoying every stitch… hahaha

Come on! Pick your needles and join me! Let’s knit along 😉

Have a super week!

Lovely colour combinations, garter stitch is so pretty worked in different colours. I once made a BJS using left over scraps of multicoloured yarns and it looked amazing when it was finished. Took me ages to decide which side I liked best lol

Lovely bright cowl,I recently went back to knitting after only doing crochet for a couple of years,I was never an expert knitter but learning to crochet seems to have improved my knitting skills too somehow.Perhaps working with yarn in any form helps improve your skills.

BEAUTIFUL!! my favorite blog. i love your color sense. i love how when i knit i can zone out with a simple pattern like this.
thank you for a great blog

Love the cowl idea. Needle size? Number of stitches? Type of yarn?

  6. Madeleine

Lovely!! Except when you have to hide all the ends of yarn!

I would also like to know how many stiches. I was going to make a cowl like that for ages, but at the moment I’m knitting a pullover for my little grand-son, age 9
    Love to you, have fun!

I am knitting the buttonband on my first REAL cardigan sweater

    Have a wonderful week, Angie.

Love the colors Angie!, I’m trying to learn to knit but I always hold the needles like I was crocheting, it has been a bit difficult for me and I go back to crocheting haha.
    Good luck with you project!.

    Thank you all 😉
    @Leslie and Madeleine:
It is a 100% acrylic yarn called Mirage
    Needles num: 5mm
Nbr of stitches: 95 but that don’t really matter, the nbr of rows will matter as the rows will be vertical around the neck ( hope that makes sense 🙂 )

Beautifully colourful, Angie! I used to knit a lot when I was at school, but now I prefer crocheting. For me it is more relaxing to just have one stich on my hook. Good luck with your shawl, Sonja

I taught myself to knit several years ago, made a few scarves, even one with a basket-weave pattern incorporated into it, then I put away my needles and just haven’t been moved to pick them up since! I guess I am usually able to express myself sufficiently through my crocheted work. Gotta go with what works! Love the bright colors of you cowl project.

Have you ever thought about publishing an e-book or guest
authoring on other websites? I have a blog based upon on the
same topics you discuss and would really like to have you share some stories/information.
I know my readers would enjoy your work. If you are even remotely interested, feel free
    to shoot me an email.

I am like you, I love knitting occasionally, but I find it more tiring (because of the weight and the nulber of stitches on the needles). These colours for your cowl are beautiful! Anne

I hope you finish this one, Sucrette, because it looks gorgeous! (I´m a crochet lady just like you, but sometimes I knit a little bit, but can´t do many things cause my skill level is not very good unfortunatelly…) I´d like to know (when you reach the end) how you hide all these ends – I think this is a problem when working changing colors… 🙁

WOW just what I was looking for. Came here by searching
    for cowl
