The baby blanket: more progress

Bonnnjouuur les amis,

Thank you so much! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your sweet and so generous words you left on my last post… They gave me a “puch” I was hoping for… To know that so many of you passed through the same painful experience and that I was not alone gave me strengh and hope again… Yes,I know, we, women, are fighters but we need sometimes someone to just remind us 🙂 You’ll never know how much your supporting and kind words means to me…I am so happy and lucky to have you all!

 T H A N K    Y O U!

I’ve made some progress I want to show you today…

Some circles crocheted in series…

This yarn I am using is a pure pleasure! you’ll never guess how much it is soft and lovely to crochet with.It is called: Nako Baby a mixture of 50% acrylic 50% polyamid… If you don’t have Nako in your country, I suggest you look for this kind of mixture( ACRYLIC-POLYAMID)  in another brand….because it is PERFECT 🙂

Have to join them now to the two-already-made-rows 🙂 yayyyy! How I love the join-as-you-go step! One of my favorite project parts 🙂

Sending you love, hugs and kisses through this post 😉

Have a super day!

The baby blanket

Good morning!

How was your week end? Hope it was great! Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my last post! I picked up one of the projects to start with…

Sorry, it is not the turtle 🙂 But I promise, I promise that I’ll make that turtle soon 🙂 It is a Sucrette’s promise 😉

This special project I picked now holds a special place in my heart… It is a baby blanket I started back in September …I was at that time pregnant …then I made a miscarriage and lost my baby… So I left this blanket in THE BOX, heart broken 🙁 I did not blog about it then because it was too sad and painful for me and I couldn’t express what I was feeling with words in a happy crochet blog …

And since that black day of September everytime I open that box and see that blanket my heart cries…But now that months have passed by and hope came back again and again I decided to finish this baby blanket and offer it to one of my pregnant friends (They are 4 🙂 )

I still have the yarn (It is Nako baby a mixture of 50%acrylic and 50%polyamid )…

I still have the first two rows made…

I still have the 3mm crochet hook …

and I still have the pattern. It is HERE!

All I have to do is to give it a go, enjoy it because the yarn is the best yarn I ever touched in my whole life sooo soft and sooo good to crochet with and finish it so a small cute baby can be wrapped with love in it 🙂

Have to go now…

I’m wishing you an excellent week!

Take care,

Sucrette

THE BOX is open!

Hello, hello, hello!

Well well well, I laughed and I laughed reading your comments 🙂 It seems we have all the same problem with yarn and left behind wips and boxes and bags too 🙂 hehehe

So, my sweet friends, I’m gonna open today THE BOX 🙂 Are you reaaaaaadyyyyyyyyyy?

As you noticed, the box is full of all sorts of projects, blocks I loved and wanted to keep for future reference, wips left-behind for no particular reason… getting bored I think is the main reason for leaving a wip…

This was me trying some blocks from: “200 crochet blocks” (You can find this book in the left sidebar of the blog)… I wanted to make a blanket but I did not like at all the result…It was a sort of “BEUUURKKK!” thing with all these “unmatched” colors …but because I hate to unravel anything I kept it! The blocks are lovely…each and every one alone without the others 😉

This pic has different kind of blanket blocks… with different combinations of colors I was trying… and new stitches too …etc etc

This … (some of you asked me about these hexagons) …this is supposed to be a turtle 🙂 Yes a turtle for my girl’s room door… I don’t know why I did not finish it… I wanted to make a small round cushion stuffed with small stones and sand and sew this hexagonal thing on it…then make a head and 4 legs…very simple… and very cute… I really should finish it and make a tuto for it too 🙂 It will be fun! Colorful, hexagonal turtles for the house !

This (the one on the left, the two big squares joined together) was supposed to be a BIIIG blanket for our bed … I don’t remember why I stopped it … I must have been at the time not-in-the-mood-for-big-projects 😉

Granny squares, Oh how I love granny squares! Different color combo and different first rounds too… trials trials that never led to something 🙂 but sometimes, you crochet little things just for fun…without any particular goal… don’t you agree?

Different blocks to keep for future lack of inspiration…

Some of them are my own creation (like the one with a white border up)… some not… but all of them are loved and kept like a treasure in THE BOX … 🙂

Now, I know, what project to pick… will tell you all about it next time 😉

Hope you enjoyed THE BOX 🙂

Have a beautiful day!

Should I open THE BOX or shouldn’t I?

This BOX is full of left behind crochet wips…

I’m thinking about opening it and pick one of the-left-behind-wip-projects to work on… what do you think?

 Should I open THE BOX?

and you? Do you have a similar BOX at home? Do you sometimes open it and think about picking one project and give it a go?

Have a happy day!

P.S: Thank you Rossella Roselli for the Versatile Blogger award 🙂 You made my day!

LOVE

You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
And, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each others cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each others keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each others shadow.

Happy Valentine’s day to you my special friends,

May LOVE be always in your home and in your heart!
