4 and 6

Gooooood morning!

How’s everything? You are surely wondering what are these two numbers about…

Well…

4 is the number of wips ( work in progress) I’m crocheting right now… Yes 4… Is it too much? Can a girl have 4 wips? I can’t resist beginning new projects that is why I have so many wips…

Do you want to have a peek? Ok…

Wip number 1:

a-2nd-granny-shawl-wip1

A new granny shawl… but this time I’ll keep it for myself cause I really really need a big shawl for spring and fall…

I’m loving these colors… The yarn is Nako Vizon a 100% acrylic yarn with a 5mm crochet hook …

a-2nd-granny-shawl-wip2

And the pattern, like for the first granny shawl, is here πŸ˜‰

Wip number 2:

baby-blanket-squares

The baby blanket I’m making for my cousin. All the circles are done and I am slowly making the white border now πŸ™‚ Very happy with these squares πŸ™‚

Wip number 3:

cowl-1

The cowl with the moss stitch… Even though I’m not sure I can still wear it this year as it’s already almost spring here… I love crocheting it… stitch after stitch… I just love this stitch…did I said that before?

cowl-2

and finally Wip number 4:

shawl-1

Another triangle shawl but this time with just one colour following a free pattern on Ravelry called South Bay Shawlette

shawl-2

I fall in love with that shawl and could not resist beginning one … and I can tell you something …it is totally ADDICTIVE … and once you get used to the pattern it is very very easy to follow πŸ™‚

These were my 4 wips…now for number 6… did you guess what it’s about?

bb-Joe-6-months-old

It is my little Joseph who turned 6 months old this week πŸ™‚

bb-Joe-6-months-old-1

I’m crazy in love with this little guy … He’s my sunshine πŸ™‚

How to hide the yarn ends

Hello hellooooo

How are you sweet ladies around the globe?

1

No, this is not a new project on the go…this is just a granny square I’ve made specially for you for this post with a step by step pics to show you how I hide the yarn ends in my projects as many of you asked me already…Each round is made with a different colour…ladies, don’t be afraid anymore to use many colours in your projects, this is how you’ll proceed…very easy…

I’ve made round 1 in purple…I closed it with a slip stitch and cut my yarn…

2

Now, I’ll hide the yarn ends with the same hook I’m using to crochet. Yes, with the same hook and as I go, round after round, I’ll hide the yarn ends…no needs for any needle here…

I turn the round 1 to the back…

3

Now I insert the hook between the stitches of the same color on the back of my square…hook it and pull through…

4

5

and then cut the part that is left…

6

This is the back of my square…as neat as the frontΒ … now, let’s do the same steps for round 2 in teal… This is the front of my 2rounds-squares…

7

Let’s turn it on its back…Here we have two teal-yarn-ends to hide

8

We begin with the first one inserting the hook on the teal stitches…

9

Always always try to remember this simple rule: You hide the yarn end of color1 under the stitches ofΒ the same colourΒ on the back of your project for a neat result.

10

11

12

13

You cut the first teal yarn end and you continue hiding the second one…

14

using the same technique…inserting the hook…pulling through the teal stitches of the back of your squares…then cutting the small part that is left…

15

16

Now look at the back of the two rounds square…

17

as neat as the front…

18

You’ll do the same steps for each and every round as you go πŸ˜‰ simple no?

19

20

Here you are…with a neat granny square without any yarn ends to hide with a needle or with anything else…

21

Now you’ll not be afraid anymore to work with as many colours as you want … with this simple technique to hide your yarn ends as you go, after each round you’ll finish and with the same hook you’re crocheting with πŸ™‚

Hope my instructions were clear for you as I’m not very used to explain with english…

Do not hesitate to ask any question you want…

Have a wonderful weekend my friend,

Kisses and hugs

The granny shawl :)

Hellooooo my friend!

How are you today? It is already spring in my part of the world πŸ™‚ the sun is happily shining πŸ™‚

The granny shawl is done and I can’t wait to show it to you…

Remember the beautiful yarn that the generous Joumana sent me? (You can read all about it here) Well…It turned into this…

granny-shawl-1

A beautiful springy granny shawl…

granny-shawl2

granny-shawl3

I love this shawl…I love its colours…I love its softness πŸ™‚ I love everything about it …

granny-shawl4

Yes, I know…I’ve began a diet πŸ˜‰

granny-shawl5

As you can see from the pic above…the shawl is big…

You can make your own shawl following this pattern here…You can find also the pattern in the right sidebar of the blog between the patterns for free πŸ™‚

granny-shawl6

It is a very easy to follow pattern…relaxing and soothing like all crocheted-things-granny πŸ˜‰

granny-shawl7

The yarn was a pure pleasure to crochet πŸ™‚ Thank you once more dear Joumana…

granny-shawl8

This shawl I’ve made is for you Joumana πŸ™‚ I hope that you’ll love it as much as I loved to crochet it for you…I’ll contact you to see how can I send it to you as a thankful gift for all the wonderful yarn you’ve sent me πŸ™‚

So, my dear friend, I hope you liked the granny shawl πŸ™‚

I’m preparing right now a post about how I hide the yarn ends in my projects as many of you are asking…

Have a beautiful day!

Monday again!

Good morning ladies!

How are you? Time really flies …here we are already in march…and it is monday again πŸ™‚ I love the smell of spring of march πŸ™‚

I’ve began two new wips I want to share with you today πŸ™‚

A baby blanket for a cousin of mine who’s expecting a little princess in July πŸ™‚

baby-blanket-yarn

baby-blanket-wip1

baby-blanket-wip2

Here is a close up of the squares I’m making…

baby-blanket-wip3

I love this blanket… I added to its original square a round of dc …to add more white…

baby-blanket-wip4

I am loving how it is turning out and I’ve already done all the circles (the first two rounds of them πŸ˜‰ )

The second wip is a cowl for myself…a very big cowl that I can fold two times around my neck….

yarn-for-cowl

cowl-wip1

I am working it using the moss stitch (1sc, 1ch, 1sc, 1ch) etc

I simply loooove that stitch πŸ™‚

cowl-wip2

I amΒ crocheting itΒ with the “MIRAGE” a 100% acrylic yarn but instead of the 3mm hook suggested on the yarn I am using a 5mm hook to have a light effect…

cowl-wip3

Finally lovely ladies a pic of my bundle of joy who’s enjoying his new toy…

bb-joe

and who became now a big baby sleeping in the bigger bed which was for his sisters πŸ™‚
